Easter bank holiday weekend (April 3 to 6) is just around the corner, and there’s plenty to get up to aside from cracking into chocolatey Easter eggs. From Easter vigils to adventure playgrounds, day trips out of town and a good ol’ Sunday roast, lots of fun things to do in Birmingham over the Easter bank holiday weekend.

Cadbury World has created a 70cm, 55kg mega-sized Mini Egg and put it on display this Easter. That’s about the same weight as an adult cheetah. The handcrafted, world’s largest Cadbury Mini Egg will remain on display throughout the Easter holidays, while visitors can also see brand-new show ‘Freddo’s Egg-Cellent Easter.’

If you don’t mind a short trip outside of Birmingham this Easter holiday, look no further than the National Forest Adventure Farm. It’s Easter Eggstravaganza is full of Easter-themed activities, from a meeting with the Easter Bunny to the UK’s longest outdoor tubing slide. The 200-foot Mega Slide Mountain is infamous for reaching speeds of up to 12mph, while you can also catch live lambing and more at the farm.

Meet lambs, goats and the Easter Bunny for just £2 this Easter at Little Twinnies Farm. For a low-cost, family-friendly day out over the bank holiday weekend, the budget petting farm in the Black Country is reopening for Easter. Visitors can meet lambs, goats, rabbits and more, enjoy holiday games, free chocolate, an Easter Bunny visit and browse the on-site farm shop.
Take a one-of-a-kind canal trip in the Black Country

This Easter, one of the Black Country’s most special experiences, Dudley Canal & Caverns, launches its very own floating time machine. Travelling back 420 million years for a dino and fossil hunt adventure, you’ll experience a sound and light show inside the echoing caverns; float through the Castle Mill Basin Dinosaur Graveyard; solve puzzles within the tunnels; and visit the Explorers Lab, where you can create your own fossils! Float away this Easter with immersive cloud-gazing at the Sky Garden. For a relaxed bank holiday weekend activity, Birmingham Botanical Gardens invites visitors for an open-air cloud gazing installation, featuring immersive audio, giant beanbags and a Cloud Library. The installation is open daily and is free to attend with a Birmingham Botanical Gardens entry or membership.
Enjoy East-arts and crafts

Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery is running its own Arts Club during Easter half-term. Your little ones will be making mosaic Easter Eggs and colourful sun catchers. 1-hour workshops take place on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 11am and 1pm. Tickets cost £3.50 per child, and can be purchased here, while the rest of the Museum is free to enter.
