Any other time of the year and the idea of a warm beverage boggles the mind. But somehow at Christmas, it just feels right. Mulled wine is a must for all during the festive season. In recent years, mulled cider has become increasingly popular too.
There are a few more mulled surprises out there as well. But whatever twist is added, the sweet, cinnamon smell warms our hearts and frozen fingers every year. We just can’t get enough. That’s why we’ve been on the lookout for the very best places to buy mulled wine in Birmingham this Christmas.
1. The Watershed
Easily Birmingham’s cosiest spot this Christmas. This newly opened outdoor pergola, The Watershed, features roaring fires, faux fur throws and spicy street food (like grilled birria tacos) to keep you warm through winter. An outdoor extension to the award-winning bar The Canal House, The Watershed is of course serving mulled wine this Christmas. Adding just another layer of snugness to an already perfect hangout spot.

Head into their Snug room for an extra level of cosiness this Christmas. Here you can nestle in on when one of their large leather seats, obviously with a good book, and enjoy a warm glass of mulled cider. Sounds heavenly to us.

But if it’s mulled wine you’re after, there are a couple of stalls selling the stuff. At Bab’s Tap, you can grab spiced mulled wine, as well as spiced toffee cider and cherry mulled wine, for £6. While over at the Helter-Skelter Bar, not only can ger mulled wine and mulled cider. But you can also order a mulled gin or mulled whiskey instead.
