Time to dig out your tinsel, fairy lights, and tree topper, we’re off to buy a Christmas tree! Whether you want a massive Douglas fir (often the most popular) to take up half your living room, or a small and sweet-smelling Norway spruce to sit cutely in the corner, we’ve got you covered. To fill that fir-shaped hole in your life this winter, these are the best places to buy real Christmas trees in Birmingham this year.
1. Hagley Christmas Trees
Howard Farmer and Steve Bubb have run Hagley Christmas Trees since 1991. To say they know a thing or two about high-quality trees is an understatement. They sell two types of Christmas trees, the Nordmann fir – the nation’s favourite, which makes up 90% of their sales – and the more traditional British Christmas tree, the Norway spruce. The Nordmann fir has superb needle retention and “boasts glossy, rich green, soft foliage and is ideally suited to indoor display.” Hagley Christmas trees range from 1m (3 ft) up to 6m (20 ft) in height – though most sit between 1.5 to 2.5m.
Worcester Road (A450), Stourbridge DY9 0EG
2. Woods Farm
Woods Farm once supplied Covent Garden in London with a 60ft Christmas tree – growing at their farm in Shirley for over 40 years. Not every tree they sell is that ginormous, luckily. Otherwise, it would have to live in the house sideways. There are over 20 species to choose from, so every need can be met.
Whether you just want something to stick in the corner over Christmas or a rooted tree to watch grow in your garden for years to come. They’ve even supplied trees to schools, shops, offices and even No. 10 Downing Street! Woods Farm is where to go if you’re looking for that Wow!-factor.

There are four choices of Christmas tree: Norway Spruce, Nordman Fir, Fraser Fir and Container Grown. If you’re unable to transport the tree yourself – local delivery can be organised. Freshly harvested trees are also ready to take home if you don’t fancy getting your feet muddy around the farm.
