It’s that time of year to dig out your decorations, Christmas lights, and wrapping paper. No Christmas feels complete without a real Christmas tree, however. If you’ve been to bust down the Birmingham Christmas markets to find one yet. Don’t fret.
Whether you want a giant Douglas fir – often the most popular – to take up half your living room, or a small and sweet-smelling Norway spruce to sit cutely in the corner, we’ve got you covered. To fill that fir-shaped hole in your life this winter, these are the best places to buy real Christmas trees in Birmingham this year. Now just to find where we packed away the baubles…
1. Hagley Christmas Trees
Howard Farmer and Steve Bubb have run Hagley Christmas Trees since 1991. To say they know a thing or two about high-quality trees is an understatement. They sell two types, the Nordmann fir – the nation’s favourite, which makes up 90% of their sales – and the more traditional British Christmas tree, the Norway spruce.
The Nordmann fir has superb needle retention and “boasts glossy, rich green, soft foliage and is ideally suited to indoor display.” Hagley Christmas trees range from 1m (3 ft) up to 6m (20 ft) in height – though most sit between 1.5 to 2.5m. Trees cost between £72 and £95 and are sold only through click-and-collect. Although delivery can be arranged to local postcodes.

2. Woods Farm
Woods Farm supplied Covent Garden in London with a 60ft Christmas tree last year – growing at their farm in Shirley for over 40 years. Not every tree they sell is that ginormous, luckily. Otherwise, it would have to live in the house sideways. There are over 20 species to choose from, so every need can be met.
Whether you just want something to stick in the corner over Christmas or a rooted tree to watch grow in your garden for years to come. They’ve even supplied trees to schools, shops, offices and even No. 10 Downing Street! Woods Farm is where to go if you’re looking for that Wow!-factor.

3. Friezeland Farm
The UK’s largest pick-your-own Christmas tree farm is less than an hour from Birmingham. At Friezeland Farm lives the perfect tree for you. Head over today, where you will have until dusk to make your choice. If you’re up for it, you can even dig or cut it yourself.
There are four choices of Christmas tree: Norway Spruce, Nordman Fir, Fraser Fir and Container Grown. If you’re unable to transport the tree yourself – local delivery can be organised. Freshly harvested trees are also ready to take home if you don’t fancy getting your feet muddy around the farm.

4. Pottery Farm Christmas Trees
You’ll only be able to grab a Nordman fir from Pottery Farm. But there’s a reason we’ve picked it out as one of the best places to buy Christmas trees in Birmingham. From November 24, there’s a fantastic range of shapes and sizes. While there, make sure to pick up a fresh holly door wreath too. Pottery Farm will be open 9 to 5, seven days a week. But act fast. When they’re gone, they’re gone.

5. Wythall Nurseries Christmas Trees
This family-run business has a history of selling plants and trees for over 100 years. You can grab both traditional and non-needle drop Christmas trees, with the most popular being the Norway Spruce and Nordmann Fir respectively.
But Wythall Nurseries grows a variety of species, including Blue Spruce, Douglas Fir and Scott’s Pine. You can also pick up some handmade wreaths and varying quantities of seasoned firewood to keep those fires burning this winter. Local delivery can also be arranged.

6. Pinewood Christmas Trees
From November 19 to December 18, Pinewood Christmas Trees will be selling stockings, ornaments, lights, hanging decorations, wreaths and, of course, Christmas trees. Near Kidderminster, there are nearly 40,000 trees growing here, including varieties of Nordman Fir, Blue Spruce, Fraser Fir or Norway Spruce at this Birmingham Christmas tree farm.
Head out into the Christmas tree and pick your own, or just quickly pop into the yard where a wide selection of trees have already been chopped down. A great place to grab Christmas trees near Birmingham.

7. Real Christmas Trees
Not somewhere you can simply rock up and pick out a tree, unfortunately. But Real Christmas Trees is a Birmingham Christmas tree farm where you can order from locally. They have a wide range of tree sizes and varieties available, including Nordman Fir and Norway Spruce.
Each tree cut down is also replaced with at least two new trees – to ensure a healthy future supply and help the environment. You can also order a dazzling range of decorations alongside your tree, if you think yours are starting to look a little old and shabby. They’ll even collect your tree after Christmas is over, huzzah! Head to their website to order now.
