It seems 2022 is the year for feasting on some mighty fine food as there are a number of new openings set to arrive in Birmingham, including a new addition coming to Bennetts Hill which we can’t wait to visit. Fat Hippo, a group of independent burger restaurants based in the North, is heading to the West Midlands and bringing their insane and drool-worthy burgers to Birmingham this June.
Announcing the news on social media, Fat Hippo’s post said: “🔥 BREAKING BURGER NEWS, ALRIGHT 𝗕𝗜𝗥𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗛𝗔𝗠 🔥Fat Hippo BIRMINGHAM is COMING 👀We’re buzzing to announce your favourite independent burger joint is opening a 𝗕𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗡𝗘𝗪 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗨𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗧 on Bennetts Hill, smack bang in #Birmingham city centre.”

And if you’re feeling ultra hungry, they even serve a four-patty beef burger!
Fat Hippo is famed for its quality ingredients and quirky flavours, which also appear in their tasty starters such as fried crinkle cut pickles, beer battered cheese balls, trash browns (deep-fried tater tots, liquid cheese and cajun onion strings) and wachos (waffle fries with classic nacho toppings). You’ll also find glorious carbs like hash browns, waffle fries and onion rings alongside their patties to create the ultimate burger experience.
The group will also be launching on Deliveroo in Birmingham to allow customers to enjoy Fat Hippo’s signature burgers in the comfort of their own home. Fat Hippo currently has six restaurants and four resident kitchens located in Manchester, Sheffield, Newcastle, Liverpool, Durham, Leeds and Nottingham, as well as exciting plans to continue growing, with further sites being established across the country such as Cardiff, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
