Silver Tree Bakery is undoubtedly one of Birmingham’s best ‘hidden gems’. To get there, you have to trek out to the edge of Sutton Coldfield near Water Orton. Where you will find a charming Scandinavian-style chalet, situated in a small grove and surrounded by picnic tables, serving the city’s most delicious baked goods.
A 20-minute drive from the city centre, it’s not exactly miles away, but it’s not the most convenient location to get to either—unless you’re in the mood for a country walk after. But Silver Tree Bakery fans rejoice, as the beloved bakery is set to open a new location a little closer to most of us this December.
Silver Tree Bakery in the JQ
Having launched in 2020, Silver Tree Bakery has gone on to open a second site at Sutton Coldfield’s Gracechurch Shopping Centre and a third in Tamworth’s Thorpe Estate. But it’s now preparing to step into Birmingham city centre this winter by opening a fourth location in the Jewellery Quarter.
Specifically, it’s found a home at the new neighbourhood, The Goodsyard, which is quickly becoming a hotspot for some of the best eateries (and drinkeries) in town—it will join already established places like the Sicilian restaurant, Vieni, cocktail bar, Passing Fancies, and chef’s table experience, Sǣl.
Known for its inventively delectable freshly baked goods, keep an eye out for anything from a Bakewell croissant to a chimichurri focaccia or an ever-changing variety of cruffins (from summer berries to key lime pie). To The Goodsyard, Silver Tree will also be bringing its own co-working space, Arbour Club.
Silver Tree Bakery will be opening at The Goodsyard in December.
