We spend a lot of time writing about incredible Birmingham restaurants. Talking them up, trying to convince you to eat at them. But let’s get real! Who on Earth can afford to eat at the coolest, tastiest, newest restaurants seven nights a week, 52 weeks a year? Not us, that’s for sure.
But maybe the Birmingham Restaurant Festival could help you increase your dining-out numbers. Designed to make eating out more accessible for all, the food festival returns for its third year this August. There are some big names signed up too, including The Yummy Brummie’s Purnell’s and Plates By Purnell’s – meaning Michelin quality food at a money-saving cost.
Birmingham Restaurant Festival will take place from August 1 to 31, with only a handful of local restaurants so far announced. On top of two of Glyn Purnell’s hotspots, you’ll be able to grab a dining deal at Chapter, Trentina, Dishoom, Tattu, Primitivo, Hotel du Vin’s Birmingham Bistro, Chaophraya, Isaac’s and, a Brummie favourite, Chung Ying Cantonese.
When in a city like Birmingham, renowned for its multiculturalism, you can guarantee a whole world of culinary delights. The festival will give diners the tastes of America, India, Syria, Thailand, Spain, France, and China, alongside the best of British, plus many more. You’ll be encouraged to try as many as you can at as many venues as you want – sampling a range of exclusive and accessible dinner and lunch menus.
“I’m particularly excited that people will be able to sample Glynn Purnell, the iconic Yummy Brummie’s, Michelin Star quality dishes as part of the event this year!” said Alex Nicholson-Evans, Founder & Director of Living For The Weekend, organisers of Birmingham Restaurant Festival. “We have a whole host more show-stopping venues still to be announced so be sure to subscribe to our e-news if you want to be the first to hear about those’”
Plenty more restaurants are still yet to be revealed, with Birmingham Restaurant Festival announcing the final restaurant line-up soon. Festival menus will all be unveiled on June 20. To guarantee access, diners should book in advance with reservations also going live on the same day. To do so, head to the Birmingham Restaurant Festival website here.
