The first World Cup not to be played during the English summer months kicks off soon. This means no beer gardens or celebrating in the sunshine. We’re expecting a cold one. But the best way to stay warm this World Cup is at the brand new outdoor venue, The Watershed.
You’ll find us supporting England toasty by a roaring fire, beneath some faux fur throws and tucking into mulled wine and birria tacos. If that’s enough to entice you, then maybe some free pints will. All you have to do is guess the winning team of any game England plays at this year’s FIFA 2022 World Cup.
What do I need to do?
Head down to the Brindleyplace venue to watch any of England’s games and buy a pint of Madri. You’ll receive your beer in a special World Cup pint glass cup, with a QR code printed on it. Scan the QR code to select the team you think will win, enter your details and wait for the result! We’ll all be choosing England, we hope?
After the game, those that chose correctly will be able to redeem a free pint at the bar. You don’t have to claim it straight away either, just before the World Cup in Qatar ends on December 18. But who are we kidding? You’ll want to celebrate your win straight away.
The outdoor extension of the award-winning bar The Canal House, situated on the waterside, will display the England games two 85-inch screens. Seated benches are available to book for the best viewing experience, at £10 a ticket and includes a pint, but if you’re happy to stand then walk-ins are welcome too.
England’s group games are Iran (November 21 , 1pm), USA (November 25, 7pm) and Wales (November 29, 7pm). The final will be held December 18, 3pm. For more information head here.
