It’s no secret that Birmingham has some of the best pizza restaurants in the country. Undeniably one of the best foods in the world. Rudy’s Pizza Napoletana in the city centre has long been among the best pizzerias in Birmingham for us. It’s the closest you can come to a break in Italy without leaving the second city.
A relaxed and traditional pizzeria, Rudy’s follows the methods and artistry of Naples pizza. So you’re guaranteed a world-beating slice every time you visit. The neighbourhood pizza joint is increasing our dining options next. A second location will launch February 6 in the spot formerly filled byItalian restaurant Cielo on Oozells Street.
“We are delighted to announce that our next Rudy’s site will be located in Birmingham’s Brindleyplace,” said Neal Bates, Managing Director of Rudy’s. “Birmingham has been incredibly welcoming to the Rudy’s famiglia since we first opened here in 2019, and we can’t wait to expand our sites in this city. Brindleyplace is a great location for Rudy’s and we can’t wait to open our doors next year.”
Rudy’s uses only 24-hour fermented dough, made with Caputo ‘00’ flour, and high-quality ingredients imported from Naples – including San Marzano tomatoes, grown next to Mount Vesuvius, and Fior di Latte mozzarella – in its pizzas.
Some of our favourites include the Calabrese pizza topped with tomato, fior di latte, basil and spicy ‘nduja sausage. While their white pizza, known as Porchetta, features roast porchetta, sage roasted potatoes, smoked mozzarella, and caramelised onions. Good to make you forget all about red sauce pizzas. Rudy’s menu is always adapting and evolving, however, and always has a surprise hidden up their sleeve.
“We look forward to opening our doors on Oozells Street from February 6,” said Josh Cheevers, General Manager of Rudy’s Brindleyplace. “The team have loved serving our Neapolitan pizza in Birmingham and we hope this new site will be another welcoming addition for the city.”
Since launching the original Rudy’s in Ancoats in 2015, the much-loved pizzeria has since opened locations all across the UK, including London, Manchester and Leeds. Rudy’s Brindleyplace will be its second location in Birmingham. To celebrate, Rudy’s Brindleyplace will be giving away thousands of free pizzas when it opens.
