Combining craft beer and innovative Indian flavours, the Indian Brewery feels uniquely Brummie. Its range includes beloved beers such as the Birmingham Lager, Juicy Mango pale ale, and Bombay Honey ale, and is showing no signs of slowing down with the launch of a brand-new, huge taproom.
A decade since it was founded in 2014, The Indian Brewery has expanded into new premises in the heart of the Jewellery Quarter. The new location, which doubles as a brewery and taproom, initially promised to open to the public in May. But, making the brewery operational seems to have taken longer than expected.
Not to worry, because we won’t have to wait any longer. The Indian Brewery taproom officially opens today (Thursday, December 12). Situated on the corner of Mary Ann Street and Livery Street, near St Paul’s Square, get your hands on a mix of traditional, modern and vibrant beers from 4.30PM.
“Our expansion into the Jewellery Quarter marks a significant milestone for The Indian Brewery,” said Jaspal Purewal, CEO of The Indian Brewery, earlier this year. “We are excited to be part of such a historic and vibrant community, and we look forward to contributing to the city centre’s cultural and culinary tapestry for many years to come.”
The taproom will not only showcase a diverse range of craft beers, but also a curated selection of natural, organic, and low-intervention wines. Plus, signature cocktails and low/no-alcohol beverages, as well as a delicious menu of innovative food all made fresh on-site – promising “delicious new Indian pizzas!”
The taproom will be distinct from the existing Indian Brewery Snowhill location – just a stone’s throw away – which is best known for its modern Indian street food offerings. The new taproom will focus on extensive beer taps, a games area, a theatre kitchen, and a big screen for live sports.
