Got a need for speed but no driving license? Ready to take that Mario Kart addiction into the real world? Hit the accelerator on discovering the best go karting circuits in and around Birmingham—both outside and inside. Whether looking to arrive and drive, or you’re after karting lessons to turn you from a beginner into a World Champion, you’ll be off to a flying start on the go karts here.
1. Teamworks Karting
There are two Teamworks Karting venues to choose from in Birmingham (and more further afield), but the City Centre circuit has recently had a huge upgrade—and it’s now offering an even smoother and faster experience. It’s also the only karting circuit in the heart of the city, making it many people’s first choice when looking to race.
The challenging indoor karting circuit is open to both children and adults, with its popular 30-minute event formats, split into multiple races, running every day. Head down on Monday night for unlimited racing for 16+ drivers, while Cadet Club provides two hours of racing every Sunday for under 16 years old (minimum age 8).
From stag and hen parties to corporate events and children’s birthday parties, you’ll find a karting experience for you. On top of this, Teamworks Karting also offers the opportunity to race on the world’s greatest race tracks with its racing simulators, as well as laser tag across a multilevel venue full of ramps, sniper holes, and hidden rooms.

2. Dayton Outdoor Karting
Daytona Tamworth’s outdoor go-karting venue has to be one of the speediest tracks out there. Daytona’s DMAX karts are the fastest publicly available go-karts in the UK, with a top speed of 70mph—intended for speedsters with some motorsport experience. Alternatively, a fleet of 50mph 4-stroke karts is perfect for less experienced racers
Known for Championships, Open Races and Team Endurance Races, its 1,000 metre track is located in the rolling hills of Staffordshire and consists of twelve corners, a high-speed straight with a slight kink, and a notorious hairpin at turn twelve. Whether a party after high-adrenaline fun, or a newbie with aspirations to become a professional racing driver, Dayton Outdoor Karting wll satisfy your need for speed.

3. Gran Prix Karting
Gran Prix Karting makes a bold claim as “the most famous outdoor go kart raceway in the UK.” Even the likes of Jenson Button and Allan McNish have made a pit-stop here. Located only a mile from the City Centre, this motorsport centre boasts state-of-the-art race karts manufactured by World Championship-winning race constructor BIZ.
It also features fully floodlit outdoor (International, National, Club and Junior) circuits that have been the home of both current and past British champions. But whether you’re a professional driver or a complete amateur, the circuit can host everything from corporate events, stag and hen dos, open race events and children’s birthday parties.

4. Teamsport Go Karting
TeamSport Birmingham boasts one of the largest indoor go karting tracks in the UK—covering over 1,000 metres and a capacity of 14 karters at a time. With a fleet of high-tech, electric-powered go karts reaching speeds of up to 40mph, the track is full of sweeping turns, long straights and the longest elevated sections in the country. Enjoy a few practice laps by yourself or go head-to-head with your mates. It also offers kids’ karts for 8 to 12-year-olds—perfect for a children’s birthday party.

5. PMG Karting World
You can also enjoy interactive darts and axe throwing at PMG Karting World. But it’s the high-powered electric go-karts that offer the most thrills. Hitting speeds of 40mph, there’s a range of racing experiences to choose from. What sets PMG Karting World out from the competition, however, is its child-friendly Cowabunga Karts (for 4–7 year-olds), on top of Junior Karts (8-14-year-olds), so younger racers can experience the full multilevel track—and all its twists, turns and tunnels!

6. Cannon Raceway
Just arrive and drive at Cannon Raceway with its Open Karting sessions. Perfect for individuals or groups, first timers and experienced drivers, take to the circuit for a 25-lap session in the latest generation of Biz Karts. You’ll also find popular Grand Prix-style races, as well as team and solo race events.
Again, it’s not just go-karting on offer here. At Cannon Raceway, you can also jump into a 15-minute game of Laser Tag, followed by a head-scratching escape room.
With open, timed go karting for junior drivers (aged 8-13) and their family members, the ultimate birthday party plans itself—with combined packages available.

7. Midland Karting
Another outdoor go karting track—this time in Lichfield and only 30 minutes from Birmingham—Midland Karting uses former airfield tarmac for a high-grip, high-speed experience. Its 270cc karts can hit top speeds of up to 50mph, while younger racers (aged 8 years and over) can burn rubber in more snappy 160cc karts.
There’s also a HUGE range of go karting experiences to choose from—from Formula 1-style sprints to 90-minute Le Mans-like endurance races. We love the simplicity of Foot Down Friday, however, to kickstart the weekend with a fast and frantic dose of go-karting fun for 45 minutes. You’ll also find everything from Championship competitions to corporate event packages.
