Do you think when John Cadbury opened his first shop in 1823 he saw the company becoming what it is today? One of the biggest chocolate makers in the world continues its 200-year celebrations this Easter (March 29) with the launch of a brand-new ride at Cadbury World. With the final touches now being added to Cadbury Chocolate Quest.
Cadbury Chocolate Quest – the brand-new indoor trackless ride – teaches visitors about the chocolate-making process. This new addition to Cadbury World sees guests set a choc-tastic mission by Freddo to collect all the ingredients of Cadbury Dairy Milk. Jump aboard one of nine new Cadbury cars and complete the immersive quest, using lasers to zap them all up.
Using 3D-themed sets and virtual screens, the ride is brought to life with sounds, lights, smells and heat for a truly interactive and sensory experience. It’s also made up of litres of mouth-watering liquid chocolate and several cheeky Buttons monkeys. Plus, after travelling through the chocolatey quest, you can collect a Cadbury treat made with all the ingredients you have ‘collected.’
“We are almost ready for action here at Cadbury World and the whole team is so excited to see all the hard work that has gone into this massive project come to life,” said Tim Waters, Regional Director of Birmingham at Merlin Entertainments. “From polishing the cars and testing the flowing liquid chocolate, the team have been working round the clock to prepare the ride in time… we really feel it is a ride that will be enjoyed by everyone.”
Cadbury Chocolate Quest is part of a wider £8m investment for Cadbury World, with further ambitions for the much-loved, long-standing attraction. This includes the previously revealed Bournville Experience revamp, as well as up-and-coming additions like a newly themed interactive Have a Go zone and an upgraded Advertising Avenue.
