Whether after a little post-summer self-care or in need of some Christmas shopping inspiration, Sephora couldn’t have come to Birmingham at a better time. The French beauty store, founded in 1969, currently holds 2,700 stores worldwide – offering nearly 340 brands in cosmetics, skincare, fragrance, body products, haircare and more. But since 2005 hadn’t had a store in the UK until last year.
That changed with the launch of Sephora at London Westfield in 2023, followed by a second store in the capital, plus a location in Manchester and two in Newcastle more recently. Now it’s Birmingham’s turn with a sixth UK store at the Bullring coming next month. The new shop will open on the second floor of Bullring’s west mall, next to River Island.
Sara Boyd, MD of Sephora UK, said: “We have once again harnessed the power of listening to our customers to shape our expansion plans around the UK, and the appetite that our beauty community in Birmingham made was profoundly powerful.”
“The demand we have seen on social media and customer enquiries, particularly on the back of the Manchester opening and Newcastle announcements has been phenomenal, and we are thrilled to announce that we will be welcoming Birmingham customers in the iconic Bullring location in winter 2024.”
Just some of the brands you’ll be able to get your hands on at the 4,925 sqft retail space include Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty range, Glossier and Kayali. Plus, customers will also be able to get beauty treatments at the Birmingham store. Dyson will provide hair styling and Benefit will have a brow bar, while Elemis, Dermalogica and Seasonly skincare treatments will also be on offer.
The beauty chain – part of French company LVMH, which also owns luxury brands Louis Vuitton and Dior – will open on Wednesday, November 13. Once open, Sephora shoppers will be able to earn points towards rewards and attend in-store events through its newly launched loyalty scheme MySephora. Until then, you’ll have to make do with browsing Sephora’s online store here.
