The bar will also be hosting a seven day reopening party.

April 12 is the magic date on everyone’s lips and WhatsApp groups right now, as it’s finally a chance for us to socialise with another household over food and drink outdoors. One Birmingham bar that is adding to the April excitement is Zumhof Biergarten, who has announced their reopening on April 12 as well as brand new street food market coming to their second floor.

Zumhof’s brand new second floor will house the Zumhof Junkyard bar and Zumhof Food Märkt, with three independent and local kitchens now operating in the former Air Nightclub. The Zumhof Food Märkt will feature the Birmingham kings of fried chicken, Bonehead, Japanese street food vendors, Zuki, and Meat Meets Bun, a brand new burger shop from Birmingham food blogger, The Fat Foodie. So expect to find plenty of crispy and succulent fried chicken as well as ramen, katsu curries and mouth-watering burgers on the Digbeth bar’s menu.

The three new additions will join Zumhof Biergarten’s residents Rudy’s Neapolitan Pizza and Schwënker, known for their brilliant bratwursts. Along with the food, guests will find an outside biergarten, fire-pit heated tipi, and outdoor stage set in 4000 square foot of space of the Custard Factory car park.

Meat Meets Bun will be a first-of-its-kind concept for Birmingham, with award-winning blogger and Instagram star Fat Foodie crossing over into the hospitality business. Meat Meets Bun will use sustainable retired dairy cattle from acclaimed butcher Meat Matters, with a choice of four beef burgers alongside their vegan ‘Air’ burger. Burgers range from his take on a cheeseburger to the ‘Black and Blue’ with black pudding crumb, stilton cheese and chilli jam.

Chris Hardy, who also goes by the name Fat Foodie, said: “I’m feeling honoured and blessed to be working alongside the independents that I’ve loved and championed through my page since I started. I can’t wait to feed the masses through Meat Meets Bun! From back in the day when I used to rave here, to now flipping burgers on the same dance floor. This place holds a lot of good memories and here’s to making a load more!”

The Digbeth based venue will also be hosting a seven-day opening party called Back to the Yard, which will feature live entertainment, DJ’s, and acts all gracing the outdoor stage as part of the celebrations. The week will kick off with music by Rinse FM and Tom Shorterz and also feature Triste, Callum Ashton, and Call Me Unique. The reopening celebrations will also end with a pop-up record store from Moseley Vinyl Club on April 18.

The bar which specialises in Bavarian and Czech beer is now taking bookings for you to grab a spot in the yard from April 12 via their website.
