Here to fulfil our love for moreish, mouthwatering burgers, wings and hot dogs, this junk food spot in Birmingham is bringing meat and dairy-free dishes to the forefront, and it is a fun guy. Joining the likes of Land and BA-HA Vegan’s pop-up at The Pineapple Club, Great Western Arcade is becoming quite the great vegan arcade, especially with this latest addition known as The Vegan Kitchen.
This plant-based paradise has a menu that is really quite something. The Vegan Kitchen serves up 100% plant-based hot dawgs made from sunflower seeds and smoked to perfection, including a cheesy hot dawg topped with CheeZe sauce, BBQ sauce and THIS isn’t bacon bits all in a brioche roll.
As for burgers, The Vegan Kitchen has a whopping 12 plant-based burgers to choose from. The junk food joint’s menu features burgers with either a crispy shroom or meatless patty which all come with an array of toppings and condiments giving them plenty of oomph.
Stand-out burgers include the fiery ‘Tornado Funguy’ – crispy shroom on a toasted brioche bun with melted CheeZe, homemade tornado sauce, tortilla chips, mayo, shredded lettuce, purple slaw and fresh chillies. Plus, there’s the ‘Smokin Jammin’ New Kid’- a meatless patty on a toasted brioche bun served with smoked melted CheeZe, THIS isn’t bacon slices, caramelised onion, chilli jam, baconnaise and shredded lettuce.
However, The Vegan Kitchen is not only bringing brummies meat-free burgers and hot dogs but also sensational starters and sides such as chips, onion rings, mac and cheeze, loaded fries, BBQ and Buffalo cauliflower bites. Plus there’s the crispy shroom wings made from oyster mushrooms, tossed in your choice of BBQ or Buffalo sauce, drizzled with sour cream and chive mayo and freshly chopped chives.
As well as satiating savoury food, this addition to the Birmingham arcade boasts funky tiled floors, a wisteria-clad wall that leads upstairs as well as plenty of other eye-catching features, including their desserts. Guests can tuck into a slice of Lotus or cookies and cream cheesecake or a decadent Oreo brownie as well as washing everything down with one of the restaurant’s juices, cocktails or craft beers.
