There’s nothing better than a day of non-stop shopping. Head tucked between the clothes rails, trying on every item. But eventually, you’re going to need to take a break and quench your thirst. Yes, there are some brilliant cafes in Birmingham, but when we’re in the mood all we want to do is keep shopping.
Well, are we glad to hear that LABCLO. – one of Birmingham’s coolest streetwear store – has a hidden Hong Kong-inspired takeaway cafe inside. Opened this October, The Stockroom is nestled in the confines of the Grade II listed building. Serving everything from coffee to Hong Kong tea, fruit teas, and bubble tea.
You’ll have to journey through the niche streetwear store to discover this hidden gem with a speakeasy-inspired concept – which doesn’t seem bad to us! This means that you can refuel and keep shopping at the same time, as it merges cafe culture and fashion under one roof.
The Stockroom at LABCLO. draws inspiration from the bustling streets of Hong Kong; the team has even received training from Hong Kong’s tea experts, as it offers authentic Asian drinks. At the heart of the menu lies the iconic Hong Kong milk tea – a traditional, silky black tea that undergoes a meticulously precise brewing process.
Elsewhere on the menu, you’ll find the fruity delight of Grape Fruit Tea; the sunshine-calling Mango Smoothie; and The Dirty Bubble Tea, a darker twist on the original bubble tea. When it comes to coffee, The Stockroom keeps it local by sourcing its beans from Birmingham’s Quarter Horse Coffee.
But what about the clothing store itself? Well, LABCLO. is all about finding the coolest overseas brands and bringing them to Brum. You won’t find clothes like this anywhere else in the city, or likely the country. So for slick styles and cutting-edge clothes (brands so cool you’ve probably never even heard of them), head to LABCLO. Just remember to grab a coffee for browsing.
