This summer is set to be a scorcher especially with the sports taking place this season and Birmingham is the place to be watch all the action unfold. Popping up from June until September, the Bullring & Grand Central has unveiled its giant sports screen and new bar The Sporting Social as we gear up for a sports-packed summer.
The large screen, located in St Martin’s Square, will be showing all the action from some of the biggest sporting events taking place this summer, including Wimbledon (27th June – 10th July) and UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 tournament (6th July – 31st July). Plus, we mustn’t forget the Commonwealth Games (28th July – 8th August) taking place in good ol’ Brum too.
New summer bar venue, The Sporting Social, situated on St Martin’s Balcony, offers a viewing area for visitors to watch all the sporting moments on the big screen. Open daily between 11am – 10pm during Monday – Saturday and 11am – 8pm on Sunday throughout the summer, The Sporting Social has a menu packed with Instagrammable cocktails.
Share jugs of Pimms amongst friends as you watch some juicy games on the screen or cool down (from the hot weather and nail-biting matches) by ordering a beer tower which can be filled with the any of the bar’s draught beer, IPA or cider. Guests can also grab a bite to eat and soak up the alcohol with options such as Greek gyros, burgers, fries, ice cream and warm cookie dough.
The Sporting Social boasts a number of picnic benches under cover for those who are in need of a little shade to lounge at alongside deckchairs facing out towards St Martin’s church for the sunseekers of Birmingham. As well as being able to relax in the sunshine with a cold drink in hand and keep up to date with the live sport taking place this summer, visitors can also embrace their competitive side with a friendly game of ping pong too.
