Last year, you may remember, The Plough was named the second-best value beer garden in the UK. We don’t know if that’s really true, because it isn’t an incredibly budget-friendly pub—you probably already know, but Harborne is a very affluent area of Birmingham. That said, it still feels like an incredibly good find for the area.
Serving everything from grilled Cuban sandwiches to Sunday roasts, the kitchen menu at this lively gastropub is as much a star as the garden. You’ll even find plenty of food deals, too, like 2 for 1 stone-baked pizzas or gourmet burgers on certain days. Meanwhile, the drinks list has craft beers, cocktails, and plenty of spirits—there’s even a happy hour, Monday to Friday, 4 to 6pm.
And, if you really wanted to, you can even stay over at the Plough House. Located a stone’s throw from the pub, it’s got all the comforts of a hotel, but with the feel of a home. So, even if you’re not local, you could feel like one, as you spend all evening soaking up the beer garden atmosphere before staggering into bed.
