When you are one of the biggest metal acts in the world, you can’t skip Birmingham on your tour. Known for its attention-grabbing outfits, chaotic live shows and ultra-aggressive riffs, Slipknot is heading to the birthplace of metal in 2024. These pioneers of nu-metal are celebrating 25 years on the scene with a massive UK and European tour next year.
Slipknot’s thrilling, multi-sensory live shows are legendary. With the band celebrating a quarter of a century, we expect these shows to be extra explosive. Stopping in the likes of Dortmund, Leipzig and Paris before coming to the UK, they’ll kick off in Leeds on December 14 at the First Direct Arena. The US band will then stop by Glasgow (15), Manchester (17) and then the Utilita Arena Birmingham on December 18. The final show will be at London’s 02 on December 20.
Says clown of the upcoming shows: “It has been 25 years since we first played on the continent, and we’ve been back ever since. The memories I have from all those times are life changing, and we’re ready to make more. I’m so excited to bring our 25th year anniversary tour to Europe and the UK. Be prepared for an energy you’ve never experienced before. It’s happening.”
Slipknot released their debut self-titled studio album on June 29, 1999, and with it, became one of the most talked about metal bands in years. In the 25 years since, the band has toured the world countlessly, released several number one records, and has even won a Grammy. And they’re slowing down either. Slipknot’s latest full-length album, The End, So Far, was their sixth top 10-charting album on the Billboard 200.
Slipknot will perform at Utilita Arena Birmingham on December 18, 2024. They will be supported by Scottish heavy metal group, Bleed from Within. Tickets go on sale this Friday, December 15 at 9am, which you can purchase here.
