You just cannot get enough of flower fields, it seems, but who could blame you! What better way to escape the hustle and bustle of Birmingham life than a calm and kaleidoscopic field of colourful flowers? You will find everything from delphiniums to cornflowers and sunflowers to wildflowers tucked away in this Shropshire spot.
Shropshire Petal Fields is hidden halfway between Telford and Stafford, but you will notice its sweeping rainbow fields of bright pink, purple, yellow, and white flowers almost instantly on approach. The only problem is that it only opens for a short, 11-day window every year.
In 2026, Shropshire Petal Fields will only open from Thursday, August 6, to Sunday, August 16. With tickets going on sale this Thursday, June 25, at 11am, demand is expected to be high. There are, however, two one-off musical events beforehand taking place in the flower fields to give us a sneak preview.
Why visit Shropshire Petal Fields?
Well, first of all, Shropshire Petal Fields is the perfect picnic location (pack your camera, or maybe a professional photographer)—with an on-site cafe, as well as the chance to pre-order a picnic hamper from The Host’s Pantry to be collected onsite. You’re also free to bring your own food to enjoy underneath dedicated tipis and among the flowers.
That’s not all, because your little ones can play until their hearts’ content on the Wild Woodland Walk, and you can buy your own freshly cut flower bouquet. Just don’t pick your own flowers, though. Remember, this is a working farm where they make award-winning biodegradable petals and dried flowers.

First up, Pop in the Petals (Friday, July 31) is calling all Dancing Queens to Shropshire Petal Fields. The tribute act ABBASensation will transport you back to the golden days of ABBA. This is then followed by Proms in the Petals (Saturday, August 1), which welcomes a 50-piece orchestra performing iconic songs from film, stage and screen.
