If you want to play golf in Birmingham, you’ve got two options: head to the outskirts of the city to find a proper course, or embrace a game of silliness of Golf Fang or Treetop Golf. That is until April when Pitch opens its new indoor golf club on Birmingham’s Colmore Square.
Bringing all the benefits of a real golf club into the heart of the city, Pitch will recreate some of the world’s greatest courses with eight state-of-the-art simulator bays and a custom club-fitting bay – including the Old Course at St Andrews Links. You can also receive teaching from qualified professional coaches or just play for fun with friends.
Pitch co-founder and CEO Elliot Godfrey said: “With a rich history and large contingent of modern, forward-thinking residents, Birmingham was an obvious choice to open one of our first venues outside of London and we’re very much looking forward to bringing Pitch to the city next year.”
Sure, two of the UK’s most renowned golf courses sit just outside of Birmingham, The Belfry and the Forest of Arden Hotel. But Pitch cuts down the cost, travel and many other barriers for those looking to get into golf – it’s all about making the sport more diverse and accessible to all – with a variety of game formats available.
In particular, Pitch Birmingham will include an academy to help more women get into the sport (in partnership with Adidas). But there are plenty of reasons to head down as a more seasoned golfer too, as the new indoor golf club will offer a premium space exclusively for use by members and their guests.
Priding itself on being more than an indoor golf venue, Pitch also aims to become “a lifestyle hub” once it opens. Open seven days a week, you’ll find late-night DJs, a relaxing atmosphere, and an array of food and drink offerings – everything from a healthy day menu to delicious cocktails.
