Known for serving up lip-smacking signatures and classics shaken, stirred and poured to perfection, Birmingham bar The Pineapple Club has announced a rather special selection of drinks being added to their menu this summer. With the highly-anticipated Commonwealth Games heading to the city, one of the UK’s top 50 bars is going for gold by throwing spirits and mixers into cocktail shakers to create delicious drinks that give an ode to some of the competing nations.
The Pineapple Club could not be more excited to welcome the Commonwealth Games to Birmingham and is inviting you to celebrate its arrival with a limited-time menu of even more superb signature cocktails. The Commonwealth Games celebrates the association of 56 nations and countries and it is the honour of Birmingham to be the host of such a significant event, giving an opportunity to showcase just exactly what Birmingham has to offer to those travelling from far and wide for the Games.
Choose from the five different Commonwealth Games-inspired cocktails such as ‘India’ which features coconut rum, yoghurt and caramel; Rwanda with Maraba Rwandan coffee liqueur, banana, oat milk and tonka; or England which includes classic British flavours of Pimms, strawberry, elderflower and ginger. Or you can head to the Caribbean as you sip on cocktails like ‘St Lucia’ with Chairman’s Reserve rum, gooseberry, mango and lime or ‘Jamaica’ with Equiano rum, Suze, pineapple and Ting.
Owner of The Pineapple Club, Samuel Boulton, highlights the significance of the Commonwealth Games coming to the city: “Birmingham is growing and quickly becoming a big name on the map. Being a bar in the UK top, 50 it is exciting to be apart of what makes the city noteworthy and it would be a disservice not to shout about everything we have to offer. The Games are expected to bring in a lot of people from a lot of different places and we are excited to give them a taste of what Birmingham is really about!”
The bespoke menu runs from the July 28- August 8 from 12pm – 5pm. And the best part? They’re only a fiver each!
