Travelling at Christmas can often be among the most stressful journeys you take all year—especially with news that New Street Station will close over the holidays. But the Northern Belle, aka ‘Britain’s most luxurious train’, is offering a festive trip through the West Midlands countryside that you won’t want to end in a hurry.
Setting off from Coventry and Birmingham International for a five-hour round trip on Sunday, December 13, 2026, Northern Belle will be rolling out the red carpet for its travellers. From champagne to canapés, plus plenty of Christmas cheer, this is the Christmas lunch to end all Christmas lunches.
All aboard the Northern Belle this Christmas!

From the second you step aboard the Northern Belle, you are showered in luxury—be it a glass of Moët & Chandon or a caviar blini—before you settle down into your seat and tuck into a seven-course festive feast, served with fine wines and, of course, Christmas crackers.
With flowing bubbly and the sights of the English countryside flying by, the traditional British lunch ends with a seasonal dessert, before an award-winning cheeseboard, coupled with a glass of Port. Finally, relax with a cup of Fortnum & Mason tea or unique Northern Belle coffee, along with some delicate petits fours.

To put you in the Christmas spirit, onboard musicians will be playing festive tunes throughout the carriages, while the train’s conjurer wanders from table to table performing seasonal magic tricks. It’s just like you’re in an Agatha Christie novel (without all the murder, obviously).
If you can’t treat yourself at Christmas, when can you?
Look, Christmas isn’t all about money, but to enjoy this festive ride of a lifetime, it’ll cost you. Christmas lunch on the Northern Belle will cost you £445 per person. For an extra £95, upgrade to the Moët & Chandon Class, or for £195, the KRUG class, which comes with several extras.
Northern Belle departs from Coventry at 12:10 and from Birmingham International at 12:25 on Sunday, December 13, 2026. You can book your seat on the Northern Belle website.
