Birmingham can’t get enough of its street food, it seems. Wherever there’s a food truck, there are hungry Brummies ready to spend, spend, spend. And, after a huge launch in Birmingham city centre last year, New Street Eats food festival is a testament to this fact, quintupling its output in 2026.
This weekend (Thursday, March 26 to Sunday, March 29), New Street Eats food festival returns to the shipping district for the first in a series of delicious dates across the summer. A “celebration of global flavours with a community atmosphere”, enjoy homemade gifts and local crafts, on top of excellent food and drink.
Taking over New Street as some sort of summerified German Christmas Market, many of the region’s best independents are on display—including Anca’s Sweet Bakery, Greek Escape, MyCandleSoap, Arei Art, Kooki Dough, Farmhouse Foods, Mr Dumpling, Olive Branch, The Jewellery Box, BBQ Train, and many, many more.
And look, I know it’s short notice, you’ve probably already got plans for the weekend (even if it is running all day, 10am to 6pm), but if you can’t make then New Street Eats will be returning a further four times across 2026, one the following weekends:
- May 14 to 17
- June 25 to 28
- July 30 to Aug 2
- September 24 to 27
With another free-to-attend food festival, Colmore Food Festival, taking over Victoria Square (July 3 & 4), as well as Digbeth Dining Club taking their stellar street food vendors on a tour of the West Midlands, there’s little chance of Brummies going hungry this summer.
