Pulled pork served with stuffing, gravy and chips- how could it possibly get better? Well, one West Midlands pop-up has managed to top that combination by putting those delicious ingredients in half a loaf of tiger bread to create a next level sandwich.
Kitsch Street Food, who you can find at a number of food pop-ups in Birmingham and the surrounding areas, has formulated what is known as a “growler”. Filling half of a tiger loaf that’s crusty on the outside yet soft on the inside with succulent, slow roasted pulled pork, lashings of gravy and seasoned skin on fries, their ‘Bostin Black Country Growler” also includes sage and onion stuffing, apple sauce and crackling. There’s also the option to add a giant hand wrapped pig in blanket to this growler.
But that’s not all. Kitsch fills their tiger loaves with other delectable flavours like their special ‘Bostin Beef Growler’ consisting of tender pulled beef, skin on fries, gravy and horseradish, as well as one for all the curry lovers out there. Kitsch’s ‘Bostin Balti Growler’ features chicken balti, onion salad, mint yoghurt and fries and it certainly levels up on the chip shop classic of chips and curry sauce.
What adds to the magic alongside these irresistible and flavoursome filled tiger loaves is that you can also get a bit of everything in every bite. Crusty and soft bread, crispy fries, tender meat and a ratio of sauce/gravy to carb that is bang on.
As well as serving their incredibly beasty growlers, Kitsch also has some bostin’ cobs on their menu, which go great with a pint. Customers can choose from pork, beef with a Yorkshire pudding or veggie, and all served with unbelievably crisp homemade roasties.
Veggies can enjoy a top crust Black Country cob filled with veggie sausages, sage and onion stuffing served with gravy and either mustard or apple sauce, as well as being able to enjoy those fillings in a growler with seasoned skin on fries. Kitsch also serves up plenty more hearty and comforting food in the form of freshly baked sausage rolls, loaded brownies and loaded cheesecakes in flavours such as Biscoff, red velvet and Oreos.
You can indulge in one of Kitsch’s growlers, cobs or sweet treats at an array of pop-ups including BCM Hanbury in Bromsgrove, plus The New Inn and The Fox Inn in Stourbridge. Be sure to check their social media pages to find out where to find them.
