You want a nice, calming and gentle wild swim? You go to Midlands Open Water. You want the complete opposite of that? You go half a mile up the road for an adrenaline-fuelled splash about at the UK’s biggest inflatable water park, Aqualand Cliff Lakes, which looks to open its greatest attraction yet this weekend.
X Tower opens on Saturday, May 23, and brings high-speed slides, racing lanes, and heart-pounding drops to Cliff Lakes. Standing 12 metres tall at the heart of the aqua park, it boasts six different slides—each designed to make the biggest splash. But it’s just one of eight floating obstacle courses to help you cool off in a heatwave.
Make a splash at Aqualand Cliff Lakes
You can experience the thrill of eight different water parks, featuring an array of mega slides, climbing walls, and trampolines for all ages (well, anybody over the age of 6, at least). Aqua Chimp will test your strength and determination to ring the bell, while Wibit Peakz’ elevated obstacles challenge your balance and agility.
Union demands coordination and control to conquer its balance beams; the Kids Park is designed especially for adventurers aged 11 and under; while, at 4 metres tall, Wibit Mountain is a show-stopping centrepiece—and we haven’t even got to Peakz, Aquaglide and Wibit. But be assured, there’s fun for the whole family at Cliff Lakes.
You have just 80 minutes to try out all the attractions, but if all you want is to go open water swimming, or even try your hand at paddleboarding, then you can do that too at Cliff Lakes. And it’s just £25 for general admission to Aqualand (giving you access to 7 out of 8 attractions), and an extra £5 to have a go on X Tower.
