Adding to Birmingham’s already thriving craft beer scene, Indian Brewery is expanding into new premises in the heart of the Jewellery Quarter this May. Situated on the corner of Mary Ann Street and Livery Street, near St Paul’s Square, the new location will double as a brewery and taproom.
“Phase 1 of the development will focus on making the brewery operational, ensuring the continual production of a diverse range of beers – from traditional to modern and vibrant beers – along with experimental, seasonal, and collaborative brews,” said Jay Purewal, Head Brewer.
Phase 2, of the plan, will see the brewery introduce a unique taproom that will be distinct and separate from the existing Indian Brewery Snowhill location – which is best known for its modern Indian street food offerings. The new taproom will feature extensive beer taps, a games area, a theatre kitchen, and a big screen for live sports (Euros 2024, anyone?)
“Our expansion into the Jewellery Quarter marks a significant milestone for The Indian Brewery,” said Jaspal Purewal, CEO of The Indian Brewery. “We are excited to be part of such a historic and vibrant community, and we look forward to contributing to the city centre’s cultural and culinary tapestry for many years to come.”
The taproom will not only showcase a diverse range of craft beers, but also a curated
selection of natural, organic, and low-intervention wines. Plus, signature cocktails and low/no-alcohol beverages, as well as a delicious menu of innovative food all made fresh on-site. In addition, The Indian Brewery anticipates creating up to 30 new jobs in the area.
Founded in 2014, The Indian Brewery produces a range of craft beers, including the Birmingham Lager, Juicy Mango pale ale, and Bombay Honey ale. To learn more about The Indian Brewery head here.
