Where’s Birmingham’s green-fingered community at? The eternal wet weather has sent many of us into hiding these past few months, but my garden and I are ready for some much-needed sunshine. Thankfully, the BBC Gardeners’ World Live is arriving in Birmingham just in time.
And if that wasn’t enough, you’ll also be able to tuck into the Good Food Show Summer at the NEC for four days of gardening displays and cookery demonstrations. Between June 13 and 16, the much-loved, double-whammy event will invite the very best gardening and cookery experts to the second city. Plus, you can also shop all the latest food trends and garden must-haves.
BBC Gardeners’ World Live will offer inspirational talks and expert advice from renowned gardening gurus including Monty Don, Adam Frost, Carol Klein, Frances Tophill, Joe Swift and Sue Kent. Other highlights at BBC Gardeners’ World Live also include one of the country’s largest Floral Marquees; practical workshops, like ‘Growing Your Own Oyster Mushrooms’; and the International Orchid Show.

But this year’s highly anticipated headline attraction has to be ‘The Chef’s Table’. Hosted by Gardeners’ World presenter Adam Frost, the walk-through garden is overflowing with edible plants and produce, with top chefs like James Martin, Michel Roux and Cassie Best stopping by to show off. Speaking of which, how can we forget about Good Food Show Summer?
Taking place at the same time at the NEC, the four-day event for foodies will feature cooking demonstrations and live interviews with the industry’s most famous faces, such as Nadiya Hussain, Si King and Lisa Faulkner. Visitors can get hands-on in a wine tasting sessions or cocktail masterclasses, and browse new and exciting products, plus much more.
