English whisky. Just a few years ago, those two words would’ve raised a lot of eyebrows, but not so much anymore, thanks to the English Whisky Festival and dozens of distilleries it highlights each year—with English drams picking up the ‘World’s Best Whisky’ awards 3 times in the past 4 years
Now in its 5th year, the one-day festival has become the go-to event for discovering this burgeoning craft scene, as it returns to Digbeth’s The Bond on Saturday, November 21, showcasing over 30 distilleries, bottlers and blenders (with makers from Cornwall to Cumbria, Northumberland to Northampton).

“English Whisky keeps going from strength to strength, so to be hosting the fifth annual English Whisky Festival is both an honour and a pleasure,” said Richard Foster, founder of Exploring English Whisky. “We’re welcoming over 30 brands to the show, the most we’ve ever had.
“But the great thing is they each have a unique and fascinating story to tell and innovative, delicious spirits to share. If you aren’t familiar with English Whisky yet, this is the place to come and find out why there’s so much excitement about the category.”
What can I expect from the English Whisky Festival?

Upon arrival, you’ll be given a free branded tasting glass (yours to keep!), with which you can sample every dram and spirit on the stands of over 30 brands (no extra costs or ‘under-the-counter’ drams). On top, you’ll be free to hear directly from founders, distillers and core team members.
You will also be able to attend in-depth masterclasses to learn more about key distilleries and their processes and products in our stylish masterclass rooms; enjoy local street food gems in The Bond’s canalside courtyard; and buy your favourite bottles from the on-site shop (or distillery exclusive/limited editions direct from the stands).
Tickets start from £50, and can be purchased via Exploring English Whisky’s website here.
