Just in time for the warmer weather!
You may already know this bakery for its epic Double Decker-stuffed pain au chocolats, however The Early Bird Bakery is now branching out into ice cream territory. And if it’s anything like their pastries and brunch dishes, it’s bound to be damn delicious.
Opening their hatch to serve ice cream desserts from the last bank holiday weekend in May onwards, the bakery in Kings Heath has got many of us excited for their new creations. And with the weather predicted to get warmer this summer, the timing couldn’t be better!
Announcing the news of an ice cream shop, The Early Bird Bakery posted a video on social media with the caption: “Coming soon! You may have noticed a few changes to our shop front, and now we can reveal why – launching this weekend is our Ice Cream shop!
“All handmade & churned in house we’ll be serving up delicious ice cream desserts, and in true Early Bird style you can expect the flavours to change as often as the weather! 🤞We’re finally expecting 🌞 this weekend so get in line and grab a bowl!”
Taking a peek at the video we can see some luscious ice cream desserts on their menu for their opening week, which will be served in the afternoon for now. The menu features four decadent desserts including: birthday cake with strawberry jelly and ice cream; chocolate Guinness cake with Baileys ice cream and malt caramel sauce; cherry Bakewell tart with cherry almond ripple ice cream; and strawberry white chocolate and basil profiteroles.
As well as pastries, and now ice cream desserts, The Early Bird Bakery also produces incredible flavoured and filled doughnuts, buns, choux, brioche, cakes, tarts, biscuits, savoury pastries and toasties. Plus, the bakery on High Street serves a tasty brunch menu featuring the likes of a cherry Bakewell cinnamon roll French toast served with almond and cherry ripple ice cream, almond praline and sour cherry compote.
