Queueing up on a cold, rainy night waiting and shivering to get into the club, you hear the thump of the bass reverberating out into the street and sober up bit by bit as the showers continue to pour. You’re finally inside and suddenly you find yourself yawning, wearied by the playlist of either unknown or over-played tracks and deep down you just want to inhale some cheesy chips and roll into bed to get those precious eight hours of sleep. Sound familiar? Well, Day Fever knows you well and is bringing its much-loved daytime disco to Birmingham that doesn’t ruin your Sunday morning after.
Day Fever, an ironic nod to the Bee Gees hit Night Fever, has become a viral hit by offering a ‘nightclub’ experience held in the daytime. The Day Fever series means attendees can still catch an early night, with the Birmingham event running between 3pm and 8pm.
After an astonishing appetite for a nightclub in the afternoon, with events selling out in Sheffield, Glasgow and London, Day Fever is now returning to the Second City – turning up at O2 Institute Birmingham on Saturday, November 2.
Brummies can expect the perfect party music playlist, personally curated by Jon McClure of Reverend and the Makers and Vicky McClure of Line of Duty fame, as well as her film producer partner Jonny Owen, hosting another afternoon of no-holds-barred party times!
Day Fever is an event for all those aged 30 years old and over so don’t forget your ID, even if you haven’t been asked for it in a while… Attendees are also kindly asked to refrain from petting on the dancefloor (unless it’s the smooch/slow section), pushing, running and bombing, as well as acrobatics or gymnastics (vigorous dancing is encouraged instead).
Fancy a daytime disco that’s not in your kitchen? Tickets start from £11. To learn more about the Day Fever event in Birmingham this June here.
