Fancy yourself a cocktail connoisseur?
Hope is finally on the horizon, and we can now sit inside at bars and restaurants. So, whilst we all revel in this newfound freedom, it’s time to revisit some of those cocktail bars that we just couldn’t get enough of pre-pandemic, and appreciate the fantastic, boozy inventions of Birmingham’s expert mixologists. Here are some of our stand-out favourite cocktails to sip, slurp and glug in Birmingham (don’t judge us please).
1. Bubblebath
📍 The Alchemist, 10F-12F The Water’s Edge, Brindley Place, B1 2HL
The Bubblebath cocktail at The Alchemist is like something invented by Willy Wonka, and it’s one hell of an experience. Plus, it’s delicious, containing Tanqueray Gin, Aperol, lemon, apple, Chambord and, curiously, fairy liquid. Don’t worry, we’re sure they’re run that one past health and safety already. You can read the rest of the menu on the website.
2. The Bubblepopper
📍Lost & Found, 8 Bennetts Hill, B2 5RS
A single bubble crowns this delicious cocktail, made from, amongst other things, No.3 and Martini Fiero. It’s berry-sweet with floral undertones and you can read more about it on the website.
3. Scorched Lemon & Vanilla Margarita
📍Purnell’s Bistro and Ginger’s Bar 11 Newhall Street, B3 3NY
This cocktail from Ginger’s Bar is just as delicious as it sounds. It’s made from vanilla-infused Tequila and Cointreau with scorched lemon. It’s not too sweet but perfectly refreshing on a warm evening. Check out the rest of the cocktail menu online.
4. Watermelon Dreams
If you’ve never been to Birdies then you should definitely check it out ASAP because all of their cocktails are fantastic and this one is perfect for Spring/Summertime. It contains vodka, pomegranate, pineapple juice, lime juice, pureed coconut and banana liquer, and we’re in love with it. Visit the website to see the rest of their Summery cocktails.
5. Frosé
📍Dirty Martini, 7 Bennetts Hill, B2 5ST
We were aching for one of dirty martini’s ice-tails all Summer, and now that we can finally get our hands on one it has to be the Frosé. This deliciousness includes two types of tasty rosé, lime and fresh strawberries, and it’s so refreshing that you might drink it all straight away if it weren’t for brainfreeze. You can view the whole cocktail menu on the website.
