Look, it’s called Paradise, but that doesn’t mean that’s what it is. But if this Birmingham area keeps on opening incredible establishments like Albert’s Schloss, F1 Arcade, La Bellezza, Yorks Café and more, that’s what it will become. And Birmingham’s newest One Chamberlain Square restaurant puts it one step closer…
Cow & Sow has already made a name for itself in Bristol and setting the bar high for top-quality steak with its two venues. The third site for the independent brand has now opened its doors in the heart of Birmingham. And it’s showcasing the finest South West cuts in the West Midlands.
The menu features an array of prime-aged steaks, from single cuts to exceptional sharing steaks, all from grass-fed cattle. Plus, there are plenty of delicious sides and small plates to start. Indulge in 35-day aged steaks including flat iron, sirloin, ribeye and fillet steaks – while a must-try side is the crispy onion blossom with black garlic dip.
“It’s been my dream to expand outside of Bristol and I’ve had Birmingham in my sights for a long time,” said founder Mark Warburton. “I’m thrilled to have opened in Paradise and can’t wait to showcase what we have to offer to the people of Birmingham. The city has a thriving dining scene but I’m confident that Cow & Sow will prove ourselves to be a cut above.”
It’s not just about the steak either. As the name suggests, Sow lovers should try the pulled pork burger and cider-braised pork belly. Meanwhile, vegans can enjoy a grilled smoky maple-glazed cauliflower steak or butternut squash wellington. For dessert, the signature salty dark chocolate delice with a zesty mandarin gel and tangerine crisps is a must!
The extensive wine list features Cow & Sow’s very own Malbec – the perfect pairing to compliment the melt-in-the-mouth meat. Those who prefer a cocktail will enjoy the choice of exquisite blends such as the Sow Punch with Aluna coconut rum, pineapple, orange, cranberry and the Cow and Sour, a mix of Amaretto, bourbon, lemon juice, syrup and cherry.
This new steakhouse will also offer a premium yet contemporary layout, with open kitchens, low-level lighting, sleek decor and a beautiful bar, as well as a private dining area perfect for intimate dining experiences. Cow & Sow is also now a certified B Corp™, with unique aims for a steakhouse to reduce its carbon footprint across the restaurant.
Mark adds: “As a steak restaurant business it would be a tough ask but I knew we were doing great things by the people and planet… I see this milestone as a door opening. The real work starts now! We pledge to put purpose before profit, but B Corp™ demands that you continue to do so and continually strive to do better.”
