If the blossom in Birmingham has you swooning, then hold steady, there are plenty more blooming flowers to come. One of the biggest events for flower lovers in the West Midlands region will return this summer – and we cannot wait – as The Wyke Manor Estate prepares to reopen its Confetti Flower Field.
Here’s where they actually grow all that biodegradable flower confetti you find at weddings. And you can visit the acres and acres of flourishing flowers – mostly delphiniums – before they’re harvested. It’s like a psychedelic walking trip over the fields of this working farm.
The Confetti Flower Field will only open for a short window of time. These flowers won’t bloom for long, so The Wyke Manor Estate will only be open for 10 days. This “pop-up” event will take place from June 28 to July 7. To keep up-to-date, follow their social media for accurate dates and times. You can do that here and here.
How does The Confetti Flower Field work?
This is a ticketed event, which must be bought in advance. These won’t go on sale until June, once open dates have been confirmed, but last year’s cost was £7.50 per person (under 5s go free), while car parking was free. It will open at 10am and close at 5pm, with the last admission at 3.45pm, every day.
How do I get there?
The Wyke Manor Estate is a working farm, so don’t expect an easy trip. It’s situated in the village of Wick in Worcestershire and we suggest driving, which should take about an hour’s drive from Birmingham. Your access to the field will be signed from the B4084 (Pershore to Evesham road) with a one-way entry/exit system.
If you’d rather take public transport, then the nearest railway station is in Pershore and from there you should pre-book a taxi to the flower field – walking isn’t an option!
What else should I know about the Confetti Flower Field?
Not that it should be said, but don’t walk through the flowers, don’t pick the flowers, etc. ‘Take only photos, leave only footprints.’ Just enjoy the tranquillity of the countryside and these magical flowers – with flowers and confetti for sale at the marquees nearby.
