It’s that time of year to download Duolingo again and pretend you’re on holiday. Wie geht es dir? Come stai? Pós eísai? Travelling the world via an app can be a lot of fun (and a lot cheaper), but it’s hardly a replacement for the real thing. So, if you’re anything like us you’ve been scouring the internet for the cheapest place to fly from Birmingham this summer.
Parlez-vous français? Pack your bags because we’re off to France. Paris, specifically, with a one-way flight to the French capital going for as low as £13 from Birmingham. You’ll have to fly on Saturday, July 13 to get this price, but many flights only cost between £14 and £16 throughout June and July. Who couldn’t turn down a cheap trip to the City of Love?
Paris is home to some of the most iconic buildings in the world including the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre – the world-renowned art gallery, where you’ll find Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo. Between stuffing your face with croissants, jambon-beurres and macarons, you’ll want to do everything, from a picnic in the gorgeous Luxembourg Gardens to a cruise down the Seine River.
There’s countless things to do in Paris (head here for all the insider knowledge). But we recommend visiting before the city heaves with tourists (more than usual) when the Olympics happens from July 25 to August 11. But whenever you decide to visit, you’ll have a blast – there’s a reason Paris is often seen as one of the world’s centres for food and culture.
If you fancy a little quieter than Paris this summer, you could alternatively fly to Toulouse for £16 on Monday, June 17 – which is famous for its incredible food, from cassoulet and foie gras. Elsewhere in France, get to Bordeaux for £14 (Monday, June 10) and Perpignan for £17 (Sunday, June 9). C’est incroyable!
