Carters is coming back to Birmingham. Just not to Moseley. Having spent 13 years in the neighbourhood it moved to Westlands UK in Evesham during summer – one of their key suppliers. The Michelin restaurant spent the last six months living out in the sticks – where it created a unique dining experience in a greenhouse surrounded by the produce it was cooking with.
Quite a different experience from the wild surroundings it’s grown used to, it’s bringing its ‘ultra-British seasonality’ into the heart of the city. The duo, Brad and Holly Carter, will launch their pop-up at a private members club, Eighteen at 103 Colmore Row, from February 2 to May 31, 2024.
The news also confirms that the team will be returning to the city permanently, opening a new restaurant in the city centre in the summer of 2024. With more details to be announced soon, in the meantime, Carters at Eighteen will be open for Friday dinner service, Saturday lunch and dinner service, Sunday dinner service, and Monday dinner service. With the possibility of reserving the space for private hire on request.
At Eighteen, they will create a Chef’s Table experience in the boardroom. Guests can expect the UK’s highest-quality produce in a multi-course format with expertly paired drinks, complemented by breathtaking views of the city. Reservations for February are now live, with March dates available from February 1, and the 1st of every month moving forward.
Brad and Holly Carter said: “We’re really looking forward to our debut in the city centre. To serve our food against breath-taking views of the city and to partner with Eighteen by x-why whose sustainability practises mirror our own is a real buzz. We’re also keen to build our presence in the city centre ahead of our restaurant opening in the summer of 2024; super exciting times ahead!”
Eighteen is built to an incredible specification by sustainable and award-winning designers, x-why.
