Just when we thought we’d seen (and eaten) it all, The Botanist has pulled out the stops for Christmas 2023, revamping their beloved menu with a Christmassy twist. Bringing the flavours of the season to an array of dishes that feature on the well-known restaurant’s menu all year round, guests can indulge in some seriously warming dishes – without having to wait til the Big Man tumbles down the chimney to do so.
Boasting a hanging turkey kebab with a cranberry and orange glaze plus all the trimmings, of course, The Botanist aims to wow this season – with plenty of festive dishes on the menu to enjoy. From starters like whole melted camembert baked inside a sourdough loaf with sweet onion marmalade (yes, you read that right) to huge festive sharing boards packed with party favourites, guests won’t be disappointed by the diversity on offer this year.
Hanging kebab enthusiasts can enjoy the festive dish stacked with orange and cranberry glazed turkey, stuffing and pigs in blankets, with all the trimmings and a pot of gravy to drizzle down the kebab. Plus, the new side dish on the menu sure to bring festive cheer is a garlic fougasse tear-and-share style bread with a pot of melted garlic butter to dip or drizzle.
Another showstopping main dish available until Christmas is the turkey ‘pie of the day’ topped with mashed potato, cranberry sauce and crispy sage and served with a jug of gravy. The best bit? It comes with a giant pig in blanket sat on top of it.
Can’t decide? You don’t have to. The restaurant’s Hot Board now comes with tater tot poutine, Cumberland scotch egg, halloumi fries, salt and pepper chicken wings and chicken katsu bites. The vegan option includes bang bang cauliflower, giant couscous, houmous with roasted chickpeas, vegan meatballs in marinara sauce and crispy mushrooms.
And those with a sweet tooth haven’t been forgotten, the restaurant’s signature cookie dough has had a seasonal update too. The new S’mores option is topped with toasted marshmallows and chocolate brownie chunks, with a biscuit crumb. The Salted Caramel comes with sticky, sweet butterscotch sauce and salted pretzel pieces, the perfect festive treat.
James Scott, Executive Chef at The Botanist said: “This time of year is all about celebration and enjoying good food with loved ones. With this menu we wanted to showcase a modern take on feel-good comfort food with festive flavours, offering our diners a seasonal update to the signature dishes they’ve come to know and love when visiting our restaurants.”
Dishes start from £7.25 for starters, £13.95 for mains and £5.25 for desserts. Discover the full Christmas menu at The Botanist here.
