With news breaking recently that Birmingham is getting a brand-new amazing nightclub in Digbeth later this month, we’re more than ready for a party. We’re sure people from across the West Midlands and beyond will be travelling to XOYO Birmingham for a big night out. And they think themselves lucky because Birmingham is one of the best cities for a night out in the UK.
That’s according to a recent study that set out to reveal the best locations for a night out. They did this by analysing the number of nightclub events per 100,000 people in 30 cities across the UK. Which saw Birmingham come in a highly respectable fourth place.
According to Betway, there are 14 nightclub events per 100,000 people in Birmingham. This is compared to the D’n’B ravers of Bristol, who had 16 nightclub events, and the Indie rockers of Leeds with 17 nightclub events. So if Birmingham is looking to climb the rankings to the second spot, our promoters had better start planning some more parties!
Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like we’ll be claiming the top spot anytime soon even with the opening of a new club. Manchester finished in the number one spot with (an unbelievable) 60 nightclub events per 100,000 people. Yeah, we’re not really sure how they achieved that either. When do the people of the UK’s Third City find the time to go to all these events?
What’s even more surprising is that London, the UK’s so-called party capital, finished an underwhelming 11th place. So these rankings might not be all that it’s cracked up to be. Quantity might be there, but they say nothing of quality. Which is something Birmingham has plenty of. Whether you want a heavy metal night at The Devil’s Dog or you’re pumped about seeing the biggest DJs at XOYO, Birmingham is easily one of the best cities for a night out.
