A brand-new Snoopy art trail has arrived in Birmingham. The beloved Peanuts pet dog, often appearing sleeping flat on top of his doghouse, is the latest inspiration for Wild in Art—the team behind last year’s iconic ‘Bulls in the City’ and the festive Christmas reindeer trail.
Snoopy has now arrived in Birmingham (from Thursday, July 9 to Tuesday, September 1), with 12 unique sculptures to discover across the city centre. You’ll find the free family-friendly ‘Snoopy in Birmingham’ trail from Piccadilly Arcade to Corporation Street, Grand Central and more.
This year’s trail will raise money for Midlands-based Acorns Children’s Hospice via a QR code on each sculpture. The trail comes soon after the 75th anniversary of Snoopy’s first appearance in the Peanuts comic strip as Charlie Brown’s pet, which was created by American artist Charles M Schulz.
Snoopy sculptures are dotted across central Birmingham with different themes, like It’s Treat O’Clock by Birmingham Town Hall, which features a clock and a mini Snoopy face within it. There’s also Golden Hound in Burlington Arcade that shimmers in gold in the shadow of jewellery store Mappin & Webb.
