A new eight-week commuter trial train service connecting this ‘most perfect’ Georgian town and Birmingham launches this September. The Bewdley Express will operate on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays to Birmingham Snow Hill, with a change at Kidderminster.
In partnership with West Midlands Rail Executive (WMRE) and Severn Valley Railway (SVR), the weekday trial service will start on September 1, 2026, and take approximately one hour and six minutes. Tickets between Bewdley and Birmingham will cost £16 for an anytime return.
This is a commuter-focused service; trains will only depart from Birmingham Snow Hill in the evening, at 16:46 and 17:46, with a change at Kidderminster to Kidderminster Town (with a 20-minute wait) before arriving at Bewdley at 17:57 and 19:02.
Meanwhile, the morning services will depart Bewdley at 06:40 and 07:40 and arrive at Birmingham Snow Hill at 07:46 and 08:46. If you’re looking to get to Bewdley outside of these times, your best options remain a train from Snow Hill to Kidderminster, where you can catch a 20-minute bus.
