There’s a good reason why everyone from Tom Cruise to Jack Black to King Charles III is a fan of Asha’s. The award-winning, Michelin Guide-approved restaurant on Newhall Street is one of the finest Indians in Birmingham (a tough competition), but not everyone’s hungry for a taste of the celebrity life.
Just normal street food for a normal person suits me fine most of the time, which is why I’m buzzing to try Asha’s brand-new Indian street food concept at Society Birmingham. Joining the food hall’s line-up on Monday, March 16, Asha’s Indian Street Food promises its famous bold flavours in a more relaxed, informal setting.
What’s on the menu at Asha’s Indian Street Food?

Inspired by the bustling streets of India, menu highlights include chicken paratha rolls and chilli paneer rolls, Delhi samosa chaats, and vegetable aloo tikki chaat. All dishes have been designed for a relaxed, street-food-style dining experience while staying true to the brand’s roots.
“At Asha’s, we’ve always loved to be at the forefront of the city’s dining community and with this in mind, we can’t wait to pitch up at Society Birmingham and bring our brand new Indian street food concept to life,” said Bobby Bassi, Director at Asha’s. “We’re excited to share our love of Indian cuisine in a more informal, social setting and to introduce our dishes to both loyal fans and new guests alike.”
What is Society Birmingham?

Having only opened its doors at One Colmore Square in September, Society Birmingham is already a firm fixture on the city’s independent food and drink scene—home to five street food traders, the city’s biggest beer bar with forty brews on tap, and regular DJs. Asha’s will join Society Birmingham’s diverse mix of independent food and drink brands under one roof.
“Asha’s is an iconic Birmingham brand, and we’re incredibly proud to be welcoming them into Society,” said Nick Gregory, Founder at Society Birmingham. “Their reputation speaks for itself, and we know our guests are going to love seeing such a well-respected local restaurant join our community of independent traders.
“The fact that they’re launching a completely new concept, which shares the same relaxed and social feel that defines Society, makes it even more exciting for us. We’re passionate about bringing the best and most diverse cuisine and street food to the people and Asha’s Indian Street Food’s arrival really embodies this.”
