Birmingham produces only brilliant people, but the laugh-a-minute legend, Alison Hammond, is among our very best. From her iconic interview with Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford to her recent casting as host of Channel 4’s Great British Bake Off, we love seeing her infectious energy everywhere. Birmingham’s very own will be giving us a treat this winter as she stars in this year’s giant pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk.
Heading to Birmingham Hippodrome (Dec 16, 2023 – Jan 28, 2024), Alison will star alongside Hippodrome favourite Matt Slack (who returns for his 10th year), Doreen Tipton as Doreen The Cow and panto dame extraordinaire Andrew Ryan. It will also feature Olivier-nominated sets and dazzling costumes from The London Palladium.
“It’s no secret that I love panto and I love Birmingham, so being able to be part of the legendary Birmingham Hippodrome pantomime is a dream come true!” said Alison Hammond. “I’m super excited that I’ll be starring in Jack and the Beanstalk later this year alongside the hilarious Matt, Doreen and Andrew.”
