The quickest way to get over the Euros pain is to throw your energy into something else completely. That’s why we’ve decided to become completely obsessed with Paris 2024 Olympics. Kicking off this Friday (July 26), for the next two weeks, 327 British athletes competing across 24 different sports – and we’ll support them all, every minute of the day.
And you can follow much of the action too – even if you’re popping out to the shops – thanks to an official Team GB fanzone at the Bullring. It’s one of 10 free and accessible fanzones popping up across the UK – including in Bristol, Manchester and London. You’ll be able to watch live coverage of the Olympics, plus sports-related attractions, athlete appearances, and daily entertainment.
Situated in the city centre, Bullring’s St Martin’s Square will once again become “a hub of sporting excitement with a large format screen and seating area.” You’ll be able to cheer on Team GB athletes alongside fellow fans and soak up the surrounding shops, cafes and restaurants.
The official Team GB fanzone, which is also wheelchair accessible, won’t just be sticking around for the Olympics. It’ll remain in place throughout the Paralympics too – from August 28 to September 8 – which will also be taking place in Paris.
Team GB – who are the only nation to have won a gold medal at every edition of the Summer Olympics, stretching back to 1896 – brought home 64 medals from Tokyo 2020. We’re expecting even better this year and, with several local Olympians heading to Paris (competing in tennis, hockey, athletics and judo), there’s plenty to cheer about!
The free fanzone will feature Olympic coverage of the biggest and best events, including the opening and closing ceremonies. Plus, if you grab a ticket here, the first 50 ticket holders each day will receive a complimentary celebratory fan from the bar. You don’t need a ticket to attend, but you’ll be the first to hear about the latest updates, exclusive screenings, and special guest announcements.
