We’ve been in some pretty small clubs in our lifetime. Packed in like sardines in a tin can. Sucking in the gut just to squeeze by one group, only to trip and tumble into another. All to get to the front of the bar and order one measly drink. We’ve never experienced anything quite like The Cocktail Club’s newest offering, however.
To celebrate the arrival of ‘the world’s hottest happy hour’ coming to Birmingham, The Cocktail Club is also setting up the world’s smallest cocktail club inside a red telephone booth. The three-day pop-up will be set up on Temple Row, running September 1 to 3. The bar will serve three of The Cocktail Club’s signature cocktails, including Jam Jar Daiquiri, Pornstar Martini and Bramley Apple Smash. All served by The Cocktail Club co-founder and winner of the Cocktail World Cup, JJ Goodman.
The arrival of this tiny party spot is, of course, all in aid of celebrating The Cocktail Club’s main arrival in the second city later that month. The Cocktail Club will be launching its biggest site so far on Temple Street in late September. Described as ‘high energy’, the bar has become well known at its other locations (in London, Bristol and Cardiff) for offering daily happy hours, theatrical bartenders and 00’s-themed bottomless brunches.
The new (and normal sized) club will have a capacity of 450 set across two floors and three rooms. You can also expect it’s signature cocktails like the sun-kissed Solero Sundae – with coconut rum, mango, passionfruit and cream, topped with a passionfruit mousse – or the more classy Southside Royal with gin, prosecco and a spray of absinthe mist. The Cocktail Club will open in Birmingham on September 29.
“I am so excited to be hosting this pop up in Birmingham to mark the launch of our biggest and most glamorous Cocktail Club to date,” said JJ Goodman. “The World’s Smallest Cocktail Bar, as far as we’re aware, will be serving a handful of our signature cocktails to the people of Birmingham.”
The pop-up will be open exclusively to invited guests only on the first day, for 10 minutes each of partying. But on September 2 & 3, the world’s smallest cocktail bar will be open to everyone, with no booking necessary, from 3pm to 8pm. Perfect for squeezing in a short-term afternoon party.
