Anyone who’s been to Warwick Castle knows the 1,000-year-old attraction doesn’t slack on immersion. Between the dungeons, trebuchets, jousting competitions and great feasts, you can often feel like you’ve slipped through time to the Middle Ages – so why would its brand new medieval-inspired hotel be any different?
Having only opened on Monday (July 22), Warwick Castle Hotel offers a unique blend of authentic history and contemporary short-break holiday. Set in the heart of Warwick Castle’s 64-acre grounds, with over 60 medieval-inspired rooms, the hotel is the ideal retreat for families and history fans looking for royal treatment – fit for any king or queen!
Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by a rearing animatronic horse (complete with a knight riding on its back) at the hotel entrance. Then, come face-to-face with talking historic portraits giving an oral history of Warwick Castle and its grounds – like something out of Harry Potter! Tying into the castle’s surroundings, the hotel exterior also resembles a medieval hall, while each room’s decor is a nod to the Wars of the Roses.
“We are so proud to announce that we have now opened the doors of the Warwick Castle Hotel,” said Liam Bartlett, General Manager at Warwick Castle. “Following years of meticulously planning every element to make each stay inspiring and memorable for our visitors, it’s incredibly exciting that we can now share our newest accommodation offering with our guests which will be open all year round and offers something unique across the seasons.”
Warwick Castle Hotel, thanks to years of planning and £16.4 million in investment, sees its accommodation offering increase to over 300 overnight guests. The accommodation also includes Caesar’s Tower Suites – chambers hidden within the castle’s 14th-century tower – the Knight’s Village Woodland Lodges, and the Knight’s Village Medieval Glamping.
To stay at Warwick Castle Hotel, prices include £159 for Bed and Breakfast for a family of four; or £199 for a family of four which includes Bed and Breakfast and a one-day ticket.
