For the third year running, Aston Villa will once again host the Ramadan Tent Project’s Open Iftar at Villa Park. It’s one of many UK venues teaming up with the charity to host the UK’s largest Ramadan event series – including Cardiff City Football Stadium (March 15), Bradford’s 1 City Park (March 21 & 22), and London’s Tafalagar Square (March 29).
For over a decade, the award-winning charity, Ramadan Tent Project, has brought together over one million people of all faiths in iconic venues across the UK, thanks to its Open Iftar series. With millions across the country observing the holy month (February 28 to March 30), the aim is “to foster community, inclusivity and cultural exchange during Ramadan.”
What is Open Iftar?
Iftar is the evening meal that muslims eat to break their daily fast during Ramadan. Often a time for reflection and togetherness, these Open Iftar events are designed for communities to come together under one roof and break bread. Over 500 people attended the Open Iftar at Villa Park in 2023, and we expect even more this year.
Coming just after the call to the Maghrib prayer at sunset, Open Iftar will be held at Villa Park on Friday, March 21. We expect the call to prayer to once again be delivered over the Villa Park PA system so that it’s heard not only by those in the Holte Suite (where Open Iftar is held) but also by anyone in the vicinity of the stadium.
🎟️ This is a free event, but tickets to Open Iftar at Villa Park will be needed. You can learn more about securing yours by heading here.
