We’ve always known working in a kitchen was intense (we’ve done it ourselves enough times), but who knew it could make such gripping TV? The Bear – which follows a rising chef turning his dead brother’s sandwich shop into a fine dining restaurant – has fired out gripping half-hour episodes one after another since its debut in 2022.
In as many years, Carmy (Jeremy Allen White), Sydney (Ayo Edebiri) and Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) are back for a third season next month (June 27). Streaming on Disney+ in the UK and Ireland, The Bear will continue to see our top chefs striving for excellence in the kitchen, while also trying to keep the business afloat.
With 10 episodes ready to drop, we’ve now got our first look at Season 3 with an official trailer. When we last saw Carmy and co. – which also stars Abby Elliott, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas and Matty Matheson – the restaurant’s opening night success left the team on a bit of a high. But what’s in store for The Bear this time around?
Continuing where we left off, the restaurant is full of heated arguments, high-quality food and money issues. All the things we’ve grown accustomed to with The Bear. The main aim this season, however, appears to be about attaining that much sought-after Michelin star – with the biggest obstacle in the way being their own incompetency.
The Rolling Stones’ Mixed Emotions (which plays throughout) is surely a hint towards the rollercoaster of feelings we’ll face head-on this season. With flying plates, culinary mistakes and spilt wine abound. Even if the multi-award-winning and critically acclaimed show doesn’t meet its usual high standards, we can still happily swoon over Carmy.
The Bear Season 3 will start streaming on Disney+ from June 27, in the meantime, the first two seasons are currently available to watch now.
