With its signature mix of sushi, grilled sticks and stylish interiors, this Danish-Japanese restaurant has already conquered Copenhagen, Berlin and London. Now, Birmingham is about to get its first taste of Sticks’n’Sushi—as it prepares to open in the heart of the city this autumn.
The new restaurant will span an expansive ground-floor space at Paradise’s Three Chamberlain Square. With an adjoining terrace, large bar area and private dining, there’s room for up to 250 guests, while creating up to 60 new jobs within SticksʹnʹSushi’s Birmingham restaurant.
On the menu, expect Sticks’n’Sushi’s signature, sharing dishes of sushi, sashimi, salads and grilled sticks (for dine-in and takeaway). This ranges from Beef Tataki (beef fillet with miso aioli, truffle ponzu and artichoke crisps) to Temaki Setto (DIY sushi rolls with lobster, wagyu tartare and avocado).

From the grill, grab miso-glazed black cod, miso-cured black Iberian pork and lamb with garlic butter, spring onion and soy sauce. Complementing the menu, the drinks list delivers a curated selection of sake, Japanese teas, contemporary cocktails, and a collaboration with Danish brewery Mikkeller, the brand’s Japanese Rice Lager.
“We’re thrilled to be opening in Birmingham and bringing Sticks’n’Sushi to the Midlands for the first time,” said Andreas Karlsson, SticksʹnʹSushi Group CEO. “The city has such an exciting and versatile food scene, and Paradise is the perfect location for us. We can’t wait to welcome guests and share our unique blend of Danish design and Japanese dining.”
Founded in a Copenhagen basement in 1994 by half-Danish, half-Japanese brothers Jens and Kim Rahbek and Thor Andersen, Sticks’n’Sushi has grown to include 32 restaurants in Denmark, Germany and the UK. Whether stopping by for a quick lunch or settling in for one of the restaurant’s generous set menus, there’s something for every occasion.
You will find SticksʹnʹSushi at Unit 3B, Three Chamberlain Square, Paradise, Birmingham, B3 3HJ when it opens this autumn.
