Just when you thought the magic and sparkle had fizzled out after the festive period, the news of an illuminating event arriving to the West Midlands this February emerges. Here to brighten your plans this winter and early spring is a brand new event known as the Spectacle of Light which will feature stunning installations.
Heading to the Georgian house and grounds of Compton Verney in Warwickshire, less than an hour’s drive away from Birmingham, visitors will be able to discover the night time wonder through a wonderful display of light and sound. This dazzling event will be taking place in the Grade 2 listed classical parklands from February 11 until March 6, with entry times between 5.30pm and 7pm.
At Spectacle of Light, you can follow a beautiful illuminated trail through the majestic woodland and around the parkland of Compton Verney all lit under the stars. Explore the stunning light installations, walk through the changing Light Curve, immerse yourself in the Carpet of Colour on the main lawn and be amazed by the sparkling Light Beams across the lake.
Plus, mulled wine and hot chocolate aren’t just reserved for the festive season as you can sip on these delicious hot drinks as you meander along the beautiful trail. You can also take a moment by the magnificent house to tuck into scrumptious hot food and mouth-watering treats.
Each evening the Spectacle is a continuous experience with four entry time slots from 5.30pm onwards and a typical walk will take approximately 60 – 75 minutes. This is designed to ensure that everyone is able to enjoy the spectacle in the best possible light.
Tickets start from £9.90 for children aged 3-15 years and £19.80 for adults and over 16s if booked before February 11. For more information and to purchase tickets head to the Spectacle of Light website here.
