We’re always dreaming of a white Christmas. The odds of us getting one aren’t great. There has only been widespread snow on the ground in the UK four times since 1960 – and that was 1981, 1995, 2009 and 2010. So there’s only one place in Birmingham where we can guarantee you real snow these holidays.
In its 19th year, Santa’s Winter Wonderland at the SnowDome in Tamworth has its very own snow trail – complete with over 1000 tonnes of real snow! It’s now open until January 5, 2025, where kids can glide around on a snow sledge under sparkling light displays and experience the magic of falling snow.
Isabelle Chadbourne, Co-Director at the SnowDome, said: “We’re thrilled to bring families the ultimate real-snow Christmas experience this year! Our Santa’s Winter Wonderland remains an iconic Christmas experience for those in the Midlands and beyond, and I’m really proud about how we’ve levelled it up this year.
“Our team has gone above and beyond to create a festive extravaganza for the whole family. From our thrilling Summit Slide to the heartwarming Christmas pantomime, we’re excited to spread even more magic this season.”
What else is there to do at Santa’s Winter Wonderland?
Whizz down the adult-sized and mini- snow slides, before everyone gathers for a snowball game a the bottom. Afterwards, head to the theatre with SnowDome’s brand-new, mini pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk. In this 25-minute performance, you’ll meet Rudolf, climb a towering beanstalk, and outwit the fearsome giant.
Or stroll through Santa’s Christmas Village to meet and feed new furry friends including alpacas, miniature piglets, guinea pigs, rabbits and goats. Then head to the letter-writing station to create your own letter to Santa, and drop it off in a talking post box, before unwinding at Aspen’s Bar & Kitchen for an Alpine dining experience in a woodland setting.
