Selfridges has always felt like the centrepiece of a shopping spree in Birmingham, but the department store is only increasing its status as the go-to spot for beauty in the Second City. It’s unveiling its brand-new Beauty Hall at the end of next month.
Expanding floor space by 20% and adding 37 new counters, the 30,000 sq ft space is set to become the UK’s largest beauty hall outside of London. Discover 160 brands (30 are exclusive to the city), including Charlotte Tilbury, Pat McGrath, Victoria Beckham Beauty, Fenty Beauty, Kylie Cosmetics and Sol De Janeiro’s first-ever UK counter.
We’ve already seen the launch of a new space, the Beauty Workshop (Friday, October 3), focused on niche, experimental and founder-led brands—including Gisou, ColourWow, Tatcha, K18, Erborian, Axis-Y and Wonderskin. But a flagship fragrance hall launches on Wednesday, November 26, with 65 brands.
It will also be the exclusive Birmingham stockist of names such as Loewe, Le Labo, Maison Francis Kurkdjian, Parfums de Marly, Maison Crivelli and Mind Game. This brings the store’s total beauty portfolio to more than 160 brands, 30 of which will be exclusive to the Birmingham location.
“For more than twenty years, Selfridges has been at the very heart of Birmingham’s Beauty community,” said Sam Watson, store director for Birmingham. “This renovation broadens our Beauty offer with even more exciting and exclusive brands, innovative experiences and the very best team, here to offer inspiration, solutions and expertise.”
As part of Reselfridges, customers will also be able to shop the retailer’s circular offering of refillable, reusable products from over 60 brands, including Suqqu, Dior, MAC, Guerlain, Le Labo, Ouai and Aesop. The beauty hall will also offer 210 services across make-up, skincare, and nails, with a Bio Sculpture nail studio scheduled to open in 2026.
